Funeral Services for Ricky Luera will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Templo Betel with Rev. Santos Gamez officiating. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm.

Ricky passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, at the age of 58. Born on November 9, 1965, Ricky lived a fulfilling life marked by his love for his family and his passion for exploring the open roads of America as a truck driver.

Ricky attended and graduated from Brownfield High School, where he formed lasting friendships and began to shape his identity. After completing his education, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver, traversing the highways and byways of the country, eagerly exploring new places and experiencing the vastness and beauty of America.

Throughout his life, Ricky cherished his role as a father, and as the years passed, he discovered a newfound joy in becoming a grandfather, building precious memories with his grandchildren. In his final years, Ricky made a conscious effort to focus on the things that mattered most to him, deepening his connection with his family and fulfilling the dreams he had yet to accomplish. Ricky is preceded in death by his brother Alvino Luera, Jr.

Ricky is survived by his son, Rick Dillon Luera; daughter, Brandee Rae Luera; grandchildren, Khalid Luera, Madysen Bell Martinez, Haevynn Giavanee Luera and Martin Daniel Martinez, Jr.; parents, Alvino P. and Paula Luera; and siblings, Sandra Villarreal, Arcelia Nerios and Jessie Luera.
