Robert Luther Pace, lovingly known as Buddy, passed away on July 2, 2023, in his hometown of Brownfield, Texas. Born on December 23, 1951, to A.C. and Lettie Mae Pace, Buddy lived a life characterized by his vibrant personality, unwavering humor, and an immense heart that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Throughout his years, Buddy developed a deep love for motorcycles. The freedom they embodied resonated with his adventurous soul. He fearlessly roared down the open road, finding solace and joy in each fleeting moment. Motorcycles became synonymous with his spirit — resolute and ever-unyielding. Attending the renowned Sturgis Motorcycle Rally one year was a cherished time when he could bask in the camaraderie and excitement shared among fellow enthusiasts.
Music had a profound impact on Buddy's life. Football also occupied a special corner in Buddy's heart with the Dallas Cowboys being his favorite team. A loyal fan for many years, he never missed an opportunity to support his favorite team. Beyond his hobbies and interests, Buddy will be remembered for his infectious laughter and an unforgettable sense of humor that lifted spirits wherever he went. His quick wit brought joy to those around him during both ordinary days and special occasions alike. In addition to his lively personality, Buddy possessed a heart full of compassion and kindness. His spirit knew no boundaries when it came to helping others.
Buddy is survived by his two sons, Robert “Robbie” Pace, Gary Settles; daughter, Lori Pace Perkins; grandchildren, Alyssa Faye Pace, Sam Pace, Tim Traweek, Brooklynn Perkins, Lee Pace, Gracie Settles, Forrest Settles, Ryleigh Settles; sister, Jannie Pace Ziegenfuss and husband, Johnny; and niece Tracy Polk.
Public Viewing will be from 10 am to 8 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Chaplain Jan Ragland officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownfield Cemetery.
