Rodney D. (R.D.) Hare, 64, entered his heavenly home to be with Jesus on August 19, 2023. He was born on July 3, 1959.
A graveside memorial service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 4, 2023 At Brownfield Cemetery.
Rodney attended Brownfield schools and graduated in 1977, then continued his education at South Plains College and Texas Tech University. He had a deep love for music. Rodney taught himself how to play the guitar at a very young age and played the drums and piano. He was a very talented musician and enjoyed playing in a small band when he was younger.
During his lifetime, Rodney enjoyed his jobs and working with so many great people. He enjoyed helping patients and their families as a nurse. He worked at MCM Elegante in Lubbock prior to his death and often spoke about the great people he worked with and how he enjoyed his job. He loved to tell many stories of what it was like to work as night security.
Rodney loved his family and friends and wished he could spend more time with them. He was a very generous, loving, and hardworking man.
Rodney is survived by his stepdad Richard Lentz of Hobbs, NM; sister Lela Green of Hobbs, NM; nephew Brandon Waters, Meghan, and Nolan of Hobbs, NM; niece Aimee Murray, Cooper, Tryston, Logan, and Andi Jo of Ruidoso, NM. He also leaves behind loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends that he loved immensely.
He is preceded in death by his parents Wayne Hare and Peggy Lentz, his grandparents, and cousin Tammi Taylor.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Covenant Hospital in Lubbock for all the care, love, and compassion during this time.
