Rodney Wayne Strange, age 62, of Brownfield, was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Blanche and Joseph Strange on May 4, 1957. He was preceded in death by his mother Blanche, his father Joseph, and his stepmother Janice.
Rodney is survived by his three children Kali Bautista, Timothy Strange and Jeffrey Halda, and sister, Sandra Wall.
Mr. Strange worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 25 years and ended his career in retirement. In his spare time, Rodney enjoyed entertaining family and friends with comical throwback stories, writing novels, and cruising backroads to classic rock. An entrepreneur at heart, Rodney Strange pursued his passion for agriculture with a purchase of a pecan orchard and investment in goat breeding. He sold pecans worldwide and produced purebread South African boar goats. With the onset of a devastating drought, Rodney made a difficult decision to put his farming interests on the back burner. Although, he continued to pursue his passion of writing through books and blogs.
Rodney was a spiritual man who continues on into afterlife and will never be forgotten. He was a blessing to everyone he encountered. His smile was contagious, and he never failed to make anyone laugh. Rodney Strange, you will be dearly missed.
