Ronnie Gene Rains

Joint funeral services for Ronnie G. Rains of Brownfield and Violetta Rains will be held 10am Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Plains. Burial will follow at the Plains Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Brownfield Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm.

Ronnie passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Lubbock. He was born February 18, 1954 in Lamesa to Carl and Violetta "Griffin" Rains. He graduated from Plains High School in 1972 and then attended South Plains College. Ronnie married Francy Taylor on August 18, 1979 in Brownfield. He farmed in the Tokio area for over 40 years and served on the board of the Tokio COOP Gin. He was employed as manager at Carter and Company Irrigation in Brownfield for over 20 years. Ronnie attended Plains First United Methodist Church. Ronnie was an avid family man who loved life and had a great sense of humor.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Violetta Rains, and a brother, Alton C. Rains.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Francy Rains of Brownfield; son, Beau Rains and wife, Lachrisa, of Tokio; daughter, Carly Goheen and husband, Jeremy, of Lubbock; 4 grandchildren, Aydon Lidzy, Adleigh Goheen, Taylor Rains and Taitlyn Rains; and several nieces and nephews.
