Services for Rosa Contreras, 63, of Brownfield, will be at 10am, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Rosa passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Brownfield. She was born December 11, 1949 in Floresville. She married Jesus Antonio Contreras in 1969. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus “Tony”; a son, Ray Mermella; a grandson Jayden Xzavian; 4 brothers, Juanito, Chencho, Bennito and Ismael Mermea; a sister, Eloisa Padilla; her parents, Juan and Adela Mermella.

Rosa is survived by 5 sons, Daniel and Esmeralda Carrion of Seagraves, Alex Contreras of Brownfield, Mark and Nina Contreras of Brownfield, Jesus Jr. and Samantha Contreras of Brownfield and Manuel and Roma Mermella of Pasadena; 2 daughters, Trinidad and Roy Torres of Pasadena and Blanca Contreras of Brownfield; grandchildren, Daniel Ray and Gabriela Carrion, Roy and Jessica Torres, Mercedes, Megan, Andrew, Eliott and George Contreras, Tanner, Jordan, Serena Contreras, Zacharia, Tristain, Julius and Josiah Contreras, Frances, Diego and Crystal Mermella Joshua, Victoria, Lilian and Gabriella DeLuna; great grandchildren, Bryden Lee, Jaziah, Nicholas, Genesis, Alfonso and Lexy; 4 brothers, Issac and Virginia Mermella of San Antonio, Trinidad and Anita Mermella of San Antonio, Sammy Mermella of San Antonio and Jesse Mermella of Rio Grande; 2 sisters, Estella and Luis Casas and Maria and Leon Perez.
