Services for Roy Harold Timmons, 89, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Moman officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-7:30pm.
Roy passed away at his home Wednesday, November 27, 2013. He was born on September 11, 1924 to William Howard and Maggie (Akers) Timmons. He graduated from New Home High School. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Roy married Norma Thompson on December 22, 1942 in Lubbock. He owned and operated Tim’s Safety Lane in Brownfield for 39 years before retiring in 1989. He was a Deacon and member of Brownfield First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a great grandson, Hunter Trey Timmons and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Roy is survived by his wife of 70 years, Norma Timmons of Brownfield; 2 sons, Buzz Timmons of Brownfield and Jerry Timmons and wife Vicki of Sacramento; 2 daughters, Judy Childress and husband Gem of Houston and Sherry Hamm of Brownfield; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Timmons and his wife Myra of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Betty Timmons of Brownfield.
