Services for Ruby George Casebeer, 81, of Brownfield will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Nevels Cemetery in Tahoka under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Ruby passed away Wed., January 23, 2008 in Brownfield. She was born July 18, 1926 in Hobart, OK. to Arlie and Belle Romines. She moved to Brownfield in 1953. She was a waitress at the Village Grill, Plaza and Green Hut restaurants. She then attended South Plain College where she received an Associate Degree in Library Science. She was the Librarian at Colonial Heights Elementary School for 26 years, retiring in 1984. Ruby married Clarence Casebeer, July 12, 1997 in Odessa. Ruby was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she set up the Church Library. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association and former member of the Extension Homemakers Club. Ruby was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Pallbearers will be Greg Crutcher, Lawson Farrar, Johnny Mac Brown, Terry Burris, Lonnie Johnson and Kym Janiak.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Casebeer of Brownfield; 4 daughters, Diann Hunter and her husband Darell of McAllester, Okla., Paula Crabtree-Lancaster and her husband Ronnie of Brownfield, Sharon Ray and her husband Fred of Odessa and Rachele George of Brownfield; a son, Robert George of Big Spring; 5 sisters, Peggy Spaugh of Lubbock, Thelma Raindl of Tahoka, Lou Meador of Washington, Lois Sellers of Midland and Judy Moore of California; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; 3 step children, Eddie Casebeer and his wife Ann of Colorado City, Carla Hansen and her husband Rick of Kismet, KS. and Dolores Luera and her husband Joel of Ft. Stockton.
The family will have visitation at Brownfield Funeral Home from 2-4pm on Sunday.
