Seferino Salas, Jr.

Services for Seferino Salas, Jr., 60, of Brownfield will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church with Rev. Platarco Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Seferino passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 in Lubbock. He was born February 27, 1948 in Brownfield to Seferino G. and Ana Maria Salas. His father preceded him in death in 1984. He married Gloria Villarreal, February 14, 1986 in Brownfield. He worked as a pipeline foreman in the oilfields for 18 years until retiring. He was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Church.

Seferino is survived by his wife Gloria of Brownfield; 3 daughters, Beatrice Salas, Monica Ruiz and her husband Roger and Tina Maria Salas all of Brownfield; a step daughter, Victoria Sanchez and her husband Amador of Houston; a son, Seferino Salas, III of Lubbock; a stepson, Marcelo V. Gutierrez of Seattle, WA; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his mother, Ana Maria Salas of Brownfield; 2 brothers, Frank Cervantes of Brownfield and Jesse Salas of Lubbock; 9 sisters, Mary Fonseca and her husband Martin of Brownfield, Juana Alejandro and her husband Jesse of Brownfield, Estefana Martinez and her husband Joe of Lubbock, Dionicia Flores and her husband Jesse of Lubbock, Julie Georgio and her husband Pat of Michigan, Sylvia Renteria and her husband Rick of Lubbock, Sandra Garcia and her husband Eli of Lubbock, Helen Castaneda and her husband Sammy of Lubbock and Ramona Salas of Lubbock.
