Sharon Milburn

May 24, 1954 — October 25, 2024

A Memorial Service for Sharon Aliene Bridges Milburn will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jody O'Briant officiating.

Sharon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Nana, and friend, left this earthly life on God's appointed date of October 25, 2024, at the age of 70.

She was born in Brownfield, Texas on May 24th, 1954, to Paul "Chuck" Wayne and Shirley Aliene (Keith) Bridges. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church (Brownfield). It was there that she was baptized on August 27, 1967, and became an avid prayer warrior.

Sharon attended school in Brownfield and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1972. On April 28, 1982, Sharon married Lonny Joe Milburn of Brownfield. She was blessed with a son, Toby Lynn Bridges, and two grandsons, Stetson Wayne Bridges and Colt Landyn Bridges.

She went on to continue her education and received numerous healthcare certifications. Sharon's work included various jobs. Her early career started with jobs at Boston Superdog and Sonic in Brownfield. She went on to work at the T.D.C.J. Rudd Unit in Brownfield where she retired as a Facility Health Administrator.

Sharon's love for her family was unparalleled. She loved her sisters and nothing could separate that love. Sharon took pleasure in spending time with family on holidays and catching up with their lives. In her leisure time, you could find Sharon experimenting with fashion or sending funny GIFs and memes via social media and text. She loved to binge-watch Lifetime movies and share cuddles with her beloved pets. Grieving the death of one of these special companions was absolutely devastating to her.

Sharon was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether taking in a stray dog or caring for an ailing friend. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone laugh. Friends and family alike will forever cherish her spirited personality.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lonny Milburn of Brownfield; son, Toby Bridges and wife, LeNa of Brownfield; two grandsons, Stetson and Colt Bridges of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Jaena Ice of Gainesville and Alaina Ice of Denton; three sisters, Velva Hock and Dianna Thompson, both of Brownfield, and Connie Long and husband, Mark of Lubbock; brother-in-law, Jeff Milburn of Lubbock; 2 sisters-in-law, Caren Milburn of Lubbock and Kaela Warren of Deltona, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Aliene Bridges; her paternal grandparents, Pete and Arvilla (Pinkston) Bridges and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Elizabeth Keith; 2 brothers-in-law, Marvin Hock and Wendell Thompson. She is also preceded in death by Lonny's parents, Joe and Doris Milburn; his paternal grandparent, Jessie James and maternal grandparents, Margie Lynn Milburn and E.L. and Myrtle Jackson.

Sharon will be laid to rest at Brownfield Cemetery next to her parents, brother-in-law, and nephew.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brownfield Animal Shelter.
