Shirley Ellis

Funeral services for Shirley Ellis, 81, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Friday, May 27, 2011 in Brownfield at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Flowers officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Shirley passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Lubbock. She was born on December 17, 1929 in Houston, Texas to E.W. Wilgus and Anna Spicuzza. Shirley attended and graduated from Brownfield High school. She married Ross Sterling Ellis on March 12, 1950 in Brownfield. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross Ellis, her son, Mike Ellis, a son-in-law, Alan Yowell and a sister, Rosemary Snyder.

Shirley is survived by 2 daughters, Beverley Robbins and husband Jim and Sheryl Yowell; daughter-in-law Linda Nowotny and husband Ben; 8 grandchildren, Heather Hightower and husband Mark, Sterling Ellis and wife Melinda, Jarrod Ellis and wife Mackenzie, Dawn Robbins, Benjamin Robbins, Nathan Robbins and wife Esther, Farron Anderson and husband Grant, Rylan Yowell; 3 great grandchildren, Jacob and Connor Hightower and Gavin Anderson; 2 sisters, Rita Crudup and Elizabeth Harwood; a brother, Robert Wilgus and wife Sandra; and sisters-in-law, Ann Ellis and Patti Winn.
