Suzanna "Suzie" Martinez

Funeral Services for Suzanna "Suzie" Martinez will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Templo Betel with Rev. Santos Gamez officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Suzie passed away peacefully at her home on November 23, 2023, at the age of 64. Born on April 5, 1959, in Brownfield, Suzie was the daughter of Rudolfo "Rudy" Alvarado, Sr. and Dominga Alvarado Garcia. 

Suzie was known for her exceptional cooking skills, particularly her tortillas, delicious carne guisada, and mouthwatering smothered burritos. Her home was always filled with the comforting aromas of her culinary creations, bringing joy to the dining table and leaving lasting memories for her family and friends.

Gardening was one of Suzie's greatest pleasures, and she took great pride in tending to her vibrant collection of houseplants and cherished blooms. Her green thumb created a serene and beautiful oasis, reflecting her nurturing spirit and love for nature.

Family was at the core of Suzie's life. She loved her children unconditionally, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Sharing laughter, creating memories, and offering unwavering support were among the many ways she demonstrated her deep affection.

Suzie had a unique passion for collecting rocks, which brought her joy and allowed her to appreciate the natural wonders of the world. This simple yet profound hobby showcased her appreciation for the beauty found in the simplest of things. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolfo "Rudy" Alvarado, Sr. and Dominga Alvarado Garcia and her son, Albert "Bo" Martinez.

Suzie is survived by her husband, Gilbert Martinez; 2 sons, Sergio Martinez (Reyna) and Gilbert Martinez, Jr. (Jannie); 5 daughters, Sabrina Corado (Wesley), Sally Martinez (Eric), Synthia Reyes (Daniel), Gina Martinez and Paula Beth; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers; and 7 sisters.
