Tommy Garland Brashears, passed away on June 3, 2023, leaving his family and friends to mourn his loss. Tommy was born on July 13, 1938, in Goodland, Texas to Sherman M. and Laura Brashears.
After completing his education, Tommy joined the Air Force where he served his country honorably. He later pursued his passion for farming and became a skilled Gas Plant Operator. Tommy's love for farming was exceptional, and his skills as a Gas Plant Operator were remarkable. He married Patricia Floyd on December 23, 1955 in Seagraves. He loved fishing and was an avid fan of Texas Tech Baseball and Basketball.
Tommy will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. His loving wife Patricia Brashears stood by him through thick and thin until the very end. He adored his sons, Gary Brashears and Rodney Brashears (Robin). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tommy is preceded in death by his daughter Kenya George Menix and grandson Scotty George who both held a special place in his heart; parents, Sherman M. and Laura Brashears and his siblings B.W. Brashears, Floyd Brashears, S.M. Brashears Jr., Odel Brashears and Maxine Cooper.
Tommy's Funeral services will be held at Brownfield First Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 2 pm. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Brownfield Funeral Home.
