Virgil Edward McNeely

Services for Virgil Edward McNeely, 79, of Brownfield and formerly of Clarendon will be at 2pm, Friday, June 10, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownfield with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will be at 10am, Saturday, June 11, 2011 in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa with Rev. Norman Rushing officiating under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Ed passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at his home in Brownfield. He was born December 18, 1931 in Post Oak, Texas to David Early and Henrietta Dunham McNeely. He attended school in Vernon and graduated from Pampa High School where he grew up. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Ed married Joyce Diane Brookshire on August 24, 1965 in Amarillo, Texas. He was a member of the Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon.

Ed is survived by his wife Joyce of Brownfield; 4 children, Diane Lindsey and husband Bob of Canyon, Lane McNeely and wife Michelle of Amarillo, Brook McNeely of Brownfield and Lisa Gersbach and husband Kris of Brownfield; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
