Virginia "Ginger" Rose Stuart was born on May 19, 1937, in Memphis, TN. She passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 87.
Ginger leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and commitment to education that touched the lives of many. She dedicated over three decades to teaching, primarily in the Brownfield Independent School District, where she left a lasting impression on countless students and colleagues. She worked as a diagnostician and also taught bilingual GED classes.
Beyond her role as an educator, Ginger was an outgoing and welcoming presence in our community. She embraced newcomers with open arms, fostering friendships that would last a lifetime. In her leisure, Ginger's passions included reading and light gardening. Since moving to the Cottage Village Assisted Living Community, she found joy in playing bingo and sitting outdoors to soak up the sunshine.
Ginger was a pillar of love and support for her family and friends, always celebrating their accomplishments and encouraging them to pursue their dreams. She adored her family and is survived by her son, Russell Stuart and wife, Jessica; grandson, Cole Stuart; 2 sisters, Phyllis and Lila Gaye and husband, Charlie; and her dear neighbor and friend of 45 years, Janey Roberts.
Cremation services are entrusted to the care of Brownfield Funeral Home.
