Vivian Elouise Day Wilson

Vivian Elouise Day Wilson, 92, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 in Odessa, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Terry County Memorial Cemetery and then followed by 11 am Memorial services at Bethel Baptist Church under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Vivian was born February 11, 1918 in Big Spring, Texas, the oldest daughter of Joseph and Ida Glover Day. She grew up moving between west Texas and Oklahoma. She married Harold Wilson of Brownfield on January 22, 1941. During the war years, while her husband was in the Army, she lived in Oklahoma as well as Brownfield. She and her husband were active in Boy Scouts and square dancing while raising two sons in Andrews, Texas. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting.

In her later years, Vivian worked in the kitchen of the Brownfield Hospital, played Bingo, traveled, and attended Bethel Baptist Church. She remained devoted to her sisters, cousins, and assorted relatives, visiting them daily and playing dominoes and board games with them as often as possible.

Survivors include her; two sons, Harold D. Wilson and wife, Linda, of Odessa, Terry L. Wilson and wife, Shnea, of Midland; sisters, Mildred Ervin, Ginger and Wendell Roberts; cousin, Ruth Keith, all of Brownfield; grandchildren, Jeff, Heather, Brandon, Clay, Shelby, and Ryan; three great-grandchildren; two nephews; two nieces; and several great-nephews, great-nieces, and great, great nieces and nephews.
