Services for Cromer Knox, 96, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Bob Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Cromer passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 in Brownfield. He was born December 4, 1913 in Red Springs, Texas to William E. and Melvina J. Cromer Knox. He graduated from Earlsboro High School in Earlsboro, NE. His family moved to Nocona and he graduated a second time from Nocona High School. He graduated from high school twice in order to play football. Cromer married Lucille Mae Henley in Muenster on August 19, 1938. They were married 19 years. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 2002. He was a Gager for Service Pipeline Oil Company for 35 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Cromer is survived by 4 children, Barbara Granato of Lubbock, William Cromer Knox, Jr. of Ruidoso, Penny Rimer of Brownfield and Johnny Knox of Brownfield; a sister, Minnie Lee Armstrong of Terrell; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
