Winnie Maude Jeffrey

Winnie Maude Jeffrey, 88, of Brownfield passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her home. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randy Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Lovington Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Viewing and Vistitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Winnie was born on March 9, 1922 in Bienville Parrish, LA to John and Beadie Franks. She moved to Brownfield as a child, attending schools in Meadow. She married J.B. Jeffrey on September 28, 1938 in Lubbock. Together they moved to Lovington in the 1940's. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1986. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Winnie then moved to Ruidoso in 1995. She was a member of First Baptist Church there.

Winnie is survived by 2 daughters, Tammy Kitchens of Lubbock and Rita Jeffrey of Englewood, CO; 3 grandchildren, Scott Greer of Castlerock, CO, Justin Kitchens of O'Fallon, MO and Chelsea Kitchens of Lubbock; 2 great grandchildren and her brother, R.E. "Rufus" Franks of Brownfield.
